Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Part-Time HR Generalist to join our team. The perfect candidate will have 5+ years of experience in HR operations, employee engagement, and retention strategies. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building and maintaining a positive and supportive work culture that encourages employee growth and satisfaction. This position is crucial for helping with our efforts in employee retention, organizational development, and overall HR management.

Key Responsibilities

 

Employee Engagement & Retention:

• Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives and events that align with the agency’s culture and values.
• Provide actionable insights for improving employee retention.
• Collaborate with department managers to understand employee needs and create retention strategies that support career growth and job satisfaction.
• Assist in designing and delivering recognition programs, team-building activities, and wellness initiatives.


HR Operations:

• Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
• Manage employee health benefits requests and updates
• Manage employee payroll updates
• Manage employee 401k updates and changes
• Develop and oversee onboarding and offboarding policy and procedures
• Maintain HR records and ensure the accuracy of employee information.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, updating policies and practices as needed in the employee handbook.


Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Support the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference checks.
• Manage onboarding processes to ensure new employees feel welcomed, supported, and integrated into the company culture.
• Work with managers to identify growth opportunities and create professional development programs.


Performance Management:

• Assist in the development and administration of performance reviews, employee development plans, and career progression programs.
• Work with leadership to create clear performance metrics and provide coaching to managers on performance feedback techniques.


Conflict Resolution & Employee Relations:

• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, mediating disputes, and facilitating resolution when necessary.
• Provide guidance to managers on handling sensitive employee relations matters with an emphasis on fairness and employee well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of HR experience, preferably within an agency or marketing environment.
• Strong understanding of employee engagement and retention best practices.
• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Experience with HR software and tools
• SHRM or PHR certification is a plus.

Hourly Pay: $35-$40 per hour DOE
20-25 hours per week
